Summoning America’s Divine Intervention Corps

Fear has been the deep river beneath every perilous moment that has previously faced the United States.  Fear lies beneath the current crises too.  Only the intensity of the fear peaking in today’s world is what is different now.  Multiply the energy that created the Great Depression by 100 times and you get a fairly accurate picture of the fear beneath the present economic meltdown.  If you could invent a fear meter that could compare today’s level of fear with all previous historical periods, you would see for yourself.  The current pitch of fear surpasses all previous times.  In shifting fear to hope, the Obama election was a great forward step but the fear meter continues to read we are not out of the woods yet.

Can anything be done to lift the fear?  Bailouts may be the best solution for governments among all their challenging options but lifting the fear and replacing it with comfort and safety is the key to ending the crisis.  Lifting the fear is one activity that anyone can perform.  In summoning a Divine Intervention Crops, any individual, neighbor or network can bring their own divine hand to the great task of lifting the fear.  Policy-oriented people may not feel that prayers, blessings, and meditations are that helpful but lifting the fear and sending comfort and safety into every home and heart could be our most practical strategy.
